Design Studio Creates Modular Cardboard Furniture for Cats

Cats love to hide, play, lounge, and be entertained. Their innate ability to turn just about anything into a play toy and hideaway, from a brown paper bag, to a cardboard box, is part of their quirkiness. However, as easy as cats are to entertain, they also get bored just as easy, especially with the same mundane cat towers and scratching posts. Cat owners are the first to tell you that they are always looking for new cat products and toys to keep their cats happy and active, which is why pet product companies are always coming up with new designs and ideas for the familiar cat climbing towers and hideaways. One Thai-based company known as A Cat Thing, thinks they have the answer to cat owner’s need for a better selection of cat condos and climbing towers.

A Cat Thing has created modular furniture out of cardboard, and it’s pretty spectacular. The furniture pieces are perfect matches for modern décor in your home, and what makes them so unique for your feline, is that all the pieces are interchangeable for building multiple types of designs to keep your cat happy and entertained without the all-too-familiar boredom setting in.

The idea was taken from LEGOs and pre-fab buildings, and the pieces come in the shape of a rectangle, triangle, a cube, and another angular-shaped piece with seven sides. A Cat Thing designers used the origami principals to help attach the pieces together so that you won’t ever need any type of tool to connect them. You can make one design one day, then rebuild them the next in a different order and fashion so that your cat always has a new adventure to dive into and never gets bored.

You can check out the modular cat furniture and see what all your cat can do in their playhouse, from climbing through tunnels, peeking through the peep holes, climbing, hiding, jumping, or just playing with a toy inside their playhouse.
