Let’s face it, kitties are cute. Even if you’re a serious dog-lover, watching the antics of a cat are fun. Well, that is unless you’re watching that kitty with your dog and then the chase is on. You can’t blame the dog, though. It’s just natural to want to chase cats. And, it’s also quite natural for furry felines to hate dogs but to love lots of human affection 24/7. Right?
So, as the story goes, a beautiful Ginger Cat wanted to play with her daddy one day while he was taking a little nap, so she tried to wake him up. She purred and rubbed against him, climbed all over him, kneaded his shirt with her paws, and did just about anything that she could think of to get him to wake up and play with her. “What’s wrong with him?”, she queried as he just kept on sleeping and snoring away. “Doesn’t he know I wanna play?”. But, Dad was unfazed and slept right through all of her wily attempts at waking him. Ginger Cat really couldn’t quite believe that he could ignore her like that.
So, she kept at it, rubbing, snuggling, and purring. She just knew that he had to wake up eventually and pay her some much-needed and well-deserved attention. Didn’t he? But, then something strange started happening. She was getting kind of sleepy herself. It would seem that, instead of her waking him up, he was making her sleepy. The more she rubbed and purred, the more tired she was getting. What was a girl to do in a case like this?
Well, Ginger Cat did the only sensible thing and she laid herself down right on top of her daddy and fell fast asleep. As his chest rose and fell with his peacefully sleepy breathing, her little kitty chest did the same as she slept on his neck, both of them snoring away. So, of course, the moral of this story is “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em!”
