‘Floating’ Cat Furniture Turns Your Home Into a Feline Playground

If you live in a small apartment and you have cats, you probably already know how difficult it is to make that extra space so they’re comfortable. Depending on where you live, it can sometimes be a challenge to find room to put much more than a litter box down. If you want a scratching post in different places for the cats to play, much less things to climb on, it can become quite the challenge. Fortunately, all that has changed with floating cat furniture.

If you’re wondering just exactly what that is, it’s pretty much just like the name sounds. Different cat-friendly surfaces are actually attached to existing furniture or to the walls, making it appear to float in thin air. The cats love it, especially because it engages their instinct to climb, but the best part is that it doesn’t take up a ton of extra space that you may not already have access to. Virtually anything can be created using this type of cat furniture. The best news is that it’s finally widely available to the general public.

If you do live in a small apartment he probably dreamed of something similar in the past. Maybe you even got ambitious and decided to make something similar yourself. The thing is, there aren’t a lot of people that have the extra time to make this kind of stuff on their own. Furthermore, not every person knows how to construct this type of furniture and make sure it’s safe for the cat, especially if that causing damage to the existing furniture. Fortunately, you don’t have to worry about any of that anymore. It’s all been taken care of for you.

All you have to do now is purchase the floating cat furniture and follow the directions to install it. It’s easier than putting a desk together from one of those big box stores and it takes less time, too. You don’t even need a lot of tools. Typically, a couple of good screwdrivers can get the job done. If you really want to go to town with it, you might consider investing in a drill but you certainly don’t need to reinvent the wheel here.

Aside from the fact that someone has finally created furniture that your cats will love which doesn’t get in the way of everything else, the best thing about this is that it’s tested to be safe for your cats and yet it’s so subtle that you hardly even notice it’s there. You can attach it to virtually anything. Some people have even created a type of floating ladder for their cats, starting out with a scratching post attached to a table that’s relatively low to the ground and working their way up from there. Cats like to climb and they typically enjoy being at higher elevations so they can look down at everything that’s going on around them. With this type of furniture, you can create all kinds of interesting adventures for your cat so they can get some exercise and then find that perfect spot to relax when they’re ready.

Since the furniture is strong but lightweight, it’s easy to attach to the edge of a desk and allow it to support its own weight. This is what makes it looks like it’s essentially free floating in the air. You might choose to put another piece of the cat furniture on a wall. When it’s all said and done, it takes up less space than a single shelf and it’s thinner, so you don’t end up feeling like you have all of this weird stuff attached to your furniture and walls all over the house for no reason. Within just a few days of installing it, you probably won’t even notice it when you walk by, even if your cat is laying on it at the time.

Another great thing about floating cat furniture is that you can incorporate it throughout the entire house as opposed to dedicating just one room. Even if you have a house that’s large enough to accommodate the traditional types of furniture people buy for cats, that furniture is rather cumbersome. Therefore, most people designate a single room and that’s where the cat is allowed to play. Now, you can incorporate that play throughout each room in the house. This gives your cat more room to explore and it gives you the opportunity to spend more time near your cat as she explores the different areas of the house that you spend most of your time in.

This is definitely an interesting take on cat furniture and it’s one that cat lovers are sure to enjoy. The only one that might enjoy it more are the cats themselves.
