Houston Driver Stops Traffic on Busy Toll Road to Save Cat

Houston, we have a problem. Okay, I know; I could not help myself, I promise. Houston has some crazy traffic, though; and that is always a problem. What makes it even worse is when someone isn’t doing what they need to be doing and they’re making traffic a mess for everyone involved. Just recently a woman decided she would send mass confusion into the minds of Houston drivers as she stopped traffic on the very busy Sam Houston Tollway in order to save a cat; the move is one that involved her running across traffic in multiple lanes to grab the feline and save it before it could be injured by any oncoming traffic. It seems that the police were notified that the cat and the woman were both in the road, and they came onto the scene to assist the woman in stopping traffic safely to help the cat.

Working together, the cat was rescued and is now safe. However, it appears that stopping traffic without proper authorization is not considered overly legal, and sometimes there are legal charges brought up on those who do this. However, it turns out that saving a life seems like a pretty legitimate reason to stop traffic on a busy interstate, so the officers on scene allowed this cat lady to go without more than what we assume is a warning to perhaps next time call the law before deciding to take on traffic like this by herself. She’s very lucky she was not injured in the process of saving the cat with traffic like it is on this very busy road.
