This Kitty Was Born With Backwards Legs: Seeing Him Stand for the First Time Will Make You Cry

If you haven’t seen anything inspirational or uplifting today then this story is going to win you over in a heartbeat. This is a story of hope and remarkable turnaround. A tiny little kitty walked into a place with a problem you won’t believe and overcame it.

The story of Stockings is one of hope for a kitten born with a severe birth defect which could have cost him his life. Stocking was born unable to walk or even stand. This poor kitty was found at only a few weeks old, living in a suspected hoarding situation. Thankfully, a kind person brought him to an extremely charitable and amazing place called Tree House. When he first arrived, everyone (including ourselves) were completely surprised.

Stockings’ hind legs were excessively extended backwards. The hyperextension was so severe that it was as if his feet had been put on backwards. Additionally, his legs were fully turned inward and fixed in a ‘W’ position. This little kitten was unable to stand or even extend his hind legs. However, as is so common in cats who are born with disabilities, his deformity had not deterred him.

Stockings had a will and found a way, and all watched as this little cat scooted around on his hind hocks. The deformity of Stockings most certainly presented a challenge. Not only did he have his issues with his ankles but Stockings was also malnourished, underweight, and had a few infections. Thankfully everyone at Tree House put in their best effort with stockings as as you’ll see in the video he amazingly came back from against all odds to learn to walk again. We couldn’t be prouder of this brave kitty!
