By now the entire world is familiar with what is going on in Italy following the aftermath of the deadly earthquakes that have shocked the country. People have been working hard as volunteers, as rescue crews and doing their actual jobs to rescue those in need, and it’s been a challenging time for them. It turns out that many people have been trapped for days beneath the rubble, and it’s not just humans trapped; it’s pets, too. Recently, a lovely cat by the name of Joy was rescued after six days in the rubble of her home after the earthquakes began. Joy’s owner is Danielle, and she’s been keeping a constant watch over a town called Amatrice. Amatrice was almost completely destroyed by the quake, but she’s been hopeful she might find her pet.
Imagine her surprise and her happiness when her darling cat was found in the rubble almost a week later. She’s been begging firefighters to help her as she has nothing left. Unfortunately, the town was devastated by the quake, and no one has been found alive since Wednesday. It was when they were clearing out the mess that they realized there was one room in Danielle’s home that was not completely destroyed, and the poor cat was in there. Tired, hungry and very thirsty, the cat was terrified and worried, and now she’s been found and reunited with her owner following this devastation. We are so happy there is a happy story to report from this tragic event.
