Stewie the cat is ready for adoption soon, but with Stewie, happiness seems to come at a great price. The adorable kitten was rescued from the home of 25-year-old Pueblo resident Robert Heckmann. Heckmann is accused of videotaping himself torturing and then killing Stewie’s brother, Loki the cat. Heckmann is facing animal cruelty charges and is scheduled to go on trial in June this year. The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region in Colorado Springs have announced the cat will be available for adoption.
The precious cat Stewie, who underwent surgery for a condition that he was born with, has been recovering with a foster family and is now well – and ready – enough to go up for adoption.
The Humane Society will be opening the adoption application process for Stewie beginning at noon on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Here are the adoption guidelines:
- Visit www.hsppr.org/stewie to find out more about Stewie.
- Complete the adoption application. You may email completed applications to [email protected] or mail (or drop off) completed applications to Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, Attention: Stewie, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80905. Completed applications will be accepted between 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 and 10 a.m. Monday, April 7 only.
- Review of the applications will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7. Only fully completed applications will be considered. All valid applications will be entered into a random drawing, and a lucky adopter will be chosen and contacted.
Stewie is said he will remain in foster care until he finds a home.
