It was only a few months ago when we brought you the story of Bruce, the small kitten that was found on the side of the road in the pouring rain, all alone and sure to be killed by either the weather, a wild animal or oncoming traffic. A lovely couple saw the kitten, worried for him and stopped to rescue this little darling. The kitten was cold and miserable, and it did not seem to be doing quite well. He was only a day or so old when he was found, and no one has any idea or even an inclination of an idea how he ended up where he was, alone, cold and in the middle of the rain close to a busy street. However, Kathryn van Beek found him and provided him with a safe home. It’s been a few months since, and now Bruce is thriving.
It’s been a rough few months for Kathryn and her husband, as they had to feed the cat with a tiny little bottle and a dropper, and they had to be available to take care of the cat 24 hours per day. It was so much work that Kathryn had to take the cat with her when she went to work for a time so that the cat could eat when it was hungry. They had to get up in the middle of the night, too. He’s two months old now, big enough to care for himself a bit more and to let his foster parents get a little more sleep. The family did not intend to keep another cat in their foster care, but this tiny, adorable kitten has really found his way into their lives and into their hearts, and he is doing wonderfully with them. He’s sticking around, for sure.
