Exploding Kittens is a game on Kickstarter that has seen great success within a few hours. In fact, in only twenty minutes the game creators met their $10,000 goal and in three days they have racked up millions of dollars already.
For some who haven’t heard about this game yet, Exploding Kittens is a card game. On January 20, 2015, Elan Lee, Shane Small and Matt Inman started a campaign for this card game on Kickstarter. The game has quite a lot of rules, the most popular rule is: You lose when you draw an Exploding Kitten card. The game was actually very similar to another game they previously made, Bomb Squad. But Matt Inman joined the team and suggested to include a bunch of kitten in the game and call it Exploding Kittens.
The group agreed to Inman’s suggestion, which was a great move for them. The group then set a $10,000 goal, which is considered to be a good number to manufacture the card game. Their success started right after they started the campaign.
The game became a huge hit to many people. The first twenty minutes the card game earned the funds to manufacture it. It’s very rare for a campaign to earn the 100% funding in just a few minutes. Exploding Kittens is truly a huge success as the money keeps coming in. I’m sure they will get probably 10 to 20 million plus of funding as their campaign ends next month on the 21st of February 2015, as any campaigns on Kickstarter are given 30 days.
Exploding Kittens is going to be a famous card game. I’m sure this game will give players lots of thrill. Once a person pulls a kitten card it means that he is out of the game but there’s a way for him to play a defuse card, which can help the kitten from exploding. Catnip sandwiches and laser pointers are some of the cards that can be used to defuse the cat. Then there are the cat cards which can activate special powers if played as multiples.
