Heroic Firefighters Save Cat from Dangerous Fire

cat in fire

The size of a fire does not matter in terms of injury. Yes, it’s dangerous for a fire to become too large and burn too hot and destroy more property. However, even a small fire can cause a lot of damage to the health of those who inhale the smoke, as that is where a great number of injuries hail. Smoke inhalation is exceptionally dangerous to all involved, and the same is true of cats. When firefighters were called to handle an apartment fire in Mesa, Arizona, they had no idea there was a cat in the apartment where a small fire had broken out and was creating ample smoke. Upon finding the apartment empty of humans, firefighters noticed a scared cat. They grabbed him and brought him to safety, where a paramedic used the most amazing tool to help the cat breathe again.

It’s called a FIDO bag, and it’s used to help cats and dogs breathe. It’s mostly a breathing mask in which you place the animals so that they do not attempt to run away when they are fearful of what is happening to them at the moment. Thankfully, the cat was able to breathe normally again after a few moments, and his owner was able to find him and they have been reunited. It’s not always happy stories when fires break out in the homes of cats, which become scared and often hide. We are happy to say this cat is happy, healthy and very grateful to be alive.
