What Kind of Cat is Grumpy Cat?

Grumpy Cat

If you haven’t heard about Grumpy Cat before, then you are probably living under a rock.  This internet sensation has made his round in both the social media world and on main stream TV.  This angry looking kitty has definitely taken the world by storm.  With its face always bunched up, it seems she is always in a bad mood.  But What Kind of Cat is Grumpy Cat?  While many of you have probably speculated on this subject matter, the truth is, this cat whose real name is Tardar Sauce is a mixture of several cat breeds.

So What Is the Genetic Background of This Very Famous Feline?

When the owner of this furry feline was asked about her beloved pet’s genetic history, she revealed that Tardar Sauce has a mixture of Ragdoll, Snowshoe, Siamese and Tabby.  With all this many different breeds all rolled up into one, it’s no wonder this animal looks so unique. But you can definitely tell by looking at the animal that the Ragdoll shows up the most in its color pattern.  This famous cat is probably the most recognized Feline in history aside from maybe Garfield.

Many People Think That This Kitty Is a Male

Many people think this kitty is a male but the truth is she is not a he.  Although the animal does have masculine features this family pet and internet star is very lady like.  She loves to gracefully show off her sweet side whenever she is at home or in public.  Tardar Sauce has made appearance all over the country and has travel many miles with her owner.

What Gives This Cat Its Unique Look? Is It Just An Expression or Something Else?

Many people who have seen this animal on the internet might think that she is actually upset.  But what really causes this worrisome look is in Tardar Sauce’s DNA.  A genetic mutation called Dwarfism is what caused the kitty to always look so angry.  It’s unclear if this mutation affects the rest of her body but it sure does make her face look strange.  The owner says this funny looking feline is a healthy and happy family pet that gets along with everybody. In fact, she is known for her lovable nature and can often been seen sitting in the lap of her owner during a public event.  But no matter what gives her that special look she is definitely one famous kitty because of it.
