Is Lil Bub Destined for Bigger Fame than Grumpy Cat?

Grumpy Cat

There are so many people in the world that love cats. And what’s not to love? They are fantastic animals. They’re small, cute and utterly adorable, and they’re so much fun that you can’t help but love them unconditionally. These adorable animals are so cute that they’re everywhere. They’re online, they’re on television, and they are just everywhere. It’s not uncommon to see talk show hosts showing off adorable cat videos, to see cats in commercials and cats all over the world. And that is just part of the reason cats such as Grumpy Cat and Lil Bub are such a hit. These are two of the most famous cats in the world, and for good reason. They are both adorable, they’re just a little bit different than the average household cat, and they’re exceptionally marketable. The sheer abundance of both these adorable animals has many people asking whether or not it’s possible that they are too famous. After all, both are more famous than some actors and actresses, and more people know who Grumpy Cat is than the President of the United States.

But which is more famous? Arguably, most would say that Grumpy Cat is clearly the more famous of the two, and they’d be very correct. He’s everywhere, and not that many people have heard – yet – of Lil Bub. But that does not mean anything. That doesn’t mean that this sweet little cat will not eventually  make it to the top, even surpassing the fame that is held by the grumpiest cat in the world. So let’s take a look at these two sweet cats and determine based on that which one is the most famous and whether or not Lil Bub is destined for greater fame than the infamous Grumpy Cat.

Grumpy Cat

It was only about two years ago that Grumpy Cat came into existence. In fact, she’s not even three yet. This cat is known for its grumpy face and its many hilarious memes, and it’s a cat that is not going anywhere anytime soon. It all started by accident, when the cat’s owner’s brother posted a photo of this cat, whose actual name is Tardar Sauce, to the internet. It took about three seconds for the photo to go viral and the cat to become an instant celebrity. Tardar Sauce, who is often mistaken for a male, is a cat that has a form of feline dwarfism. This makes it possible for her face to look as it does; slightly squished and always angry. According to her owners, however, she is not at all angry. She has a brother who is actually angrier and meaner than she, but it’s hard to tell thanks to the fact that this cat always seems so grumpy and judgmental.

Since rising to fame, Grumpy Cat is everywhere. She’s been to Hollywood award shows, on red carpets and she’s been in the news. She’s on shirts and cups and her merchandise is everywhere. She’s a famous cat, and that’s just how it goes. She is very well-known and people are in love with her. She even starred in her own movie on the Lifetime Network over the Thanksgiving holiday, and that’s helped to settle her fame even more. But just how famous is this Grumpy Cat? Arguably; very.

Lil Bub

Not nearly as famous as Grumpy Cat – yet – is Lil Bub. This cat is very familiar, however, because she has web series, has appeared on television and she does many meet and greets. Much like Grumpy Cat, she’s famous because she has a deformity. Grumpy Cat has feline dwarfism, and this cat has several deformities that cause it to have a very sweet and very distinct look as far as cats are concerned. For one, her tongue hangs out of her mouth all the time because she has a very short jaw and no teeth. She also has very small limbs from being the runt of her litter, and she has issues walking and running, but she does waddle. All in all, she’s a uniquely small and adorable cat, despite her health issues. Because she is a runt, her owners had a difficult time adopting her out and sent her to a shelter. It was there that her owner made the decision to adopt her and give her a home. He’s been using her public appearances to raise awareness for animals and to raise money for local animal shelters, though he has used some of the money his cat has raised to pay off some rental debt he had.

At the moment, Grumpy Cat is by far the more famous cat. But it seems that Lil Bub is making it big in the world of cat fame, and that means that we can assume that fame is only going to become larger as time goes on.

As for right now, we just don’t know if Lil Bub is going to be more famous than Grumpy Cat. The only surefire way to tell is to go ahead and wait it out. But now that this sweet little cat’s name is out there even more, more and more people are looking her up and seeing what they can do to help cats in need, what her issues are and how common they are and what her story entails. We just love that she’s a fun little cat with so much to offer, and that’s one of those things that’s going to make her more famous. Grumpy Cat is everywhere, but that’s got to end eventually, right? When something new and even cuter comes along, most people are willing to forget the old and make their way in with the new, and we see no reason as to why this won’t work the same way with Lil Bub and Grumpy Cat. Stay tuned to see which of these cats is the most famous in the future, and we will keep our eye on the story, too. Though our money is on Grumpy Cat.
