Despite their reputation for sometimes being exclusive and prima donna-esque creatures; cats can actually be one of the nicest and friendliest animals out there. Like some animals, cats can get along with most everyone, from other cats to dogs to elephants to… owls? That’s correct – you read that right. While they seemingly don’t tend to have anything in common with one another, cats and owls can break that barrier and just be pals.
In the video below, a cat and an owl are seen interacting with one another. At first, it seems as if the cat doesn’t know if the owl is a real living thing or if it is just a statue of some sort. The feline sniffs the bird and pulls back a little bit, and when the owl turns its head to face the kitty, the cat moves its head even further back, indicating that it was definitely a surprise! Still, the gray kitty seems to be its playful self, rolling over onto its side and pawing at the brown bird. The owl seems to be in its own world, just minding its own business while the feline tries to interact with it. Since the owl seems to not be in a playful mood like it is, the cat turns over to the other side, stretching and pseudo-ignoring the bird. The tactic seems to work, as the owl starts paying attention to the cat and all of a sudden, the two are playing – with the cat lightly pawing at the owl’s face, with the owl acting like it doesn’t care. While the bird walks away from the cat, the two really don’t seem to be all too afraid of each other and they mostly end up looking at the camera with wide eyes and intense gazes. It looks like both owls and cats can be the best of friends!
