Missing Cat Found and Rescued from Top of Utility Pole

When a Washington couple’s cat, George, went missing recently, they were hopeful that someone would find him. He’d been missing for more than 36 hours when they finally received a call that someone had found their cat. He was stuck at the top of a local utility pole, barely holding onto the wires and lines. Neighbors spotted the cat and did what they could to get George to come down, but the cat was scared and not willing to move an inch. They knew he was hungry, so they began to throw food up his way hoping he could catch it and have a snack while they figured out how to rescue the animal. Fortunately, the local fire department responded to the scene.

When they realized that the owners and the firemen on scene could not get the cat down, the firefighters called the local utility company to ask them for some assistance. They were unsure if it was safe for them to get up there and get the cat down. They were right to make the call. The company was great, and decided to send out a little bit of help right away. Within thirty minutes of receiving the call, utility company workers were on the scene and able to secure the cat without worry that he or any of his rescuers might face even bigger problems. They retrieved the cat, which is in good health save for being a little hungry and thirsty and certainly a little shaken; he’s home with his family now.
