When someone in New York City heard the unmistakable sounds of a tiny kitten meowing around their cat, they became concerned. It didn’t take them long to realize that the cat was not near the car, but stuck somewhere inside the car. Unable to locate the cat on their own, they called the local police. When NYPD officer Reiff showed up on the scene, he was not expecting that he would be on his hands and knees on the ground with a car jack, a lot of heavy lifting ahead, and some serious work on his hands. However, he was, and that’s what he did. He jacked up the car and located the tiny kitten inside the engine. Working very carefully, he was able to remove the kitten from the engine and keep it safe. He then took the kitten to the station with him where he gave it a bath.
Fortunately, the tiny stray kitten was all right. Scared and a little terrified, but all right. When another officer walked in and saw the small black cat, he knew right then and there that this cat belonged to his family and wanted to adopt him. He did just that and now this little kitten has a family and a home of his own all in one day. All thanks to the help of an officer who doesn’t feel his job is too good to help rescue cats and save lives – no matter the type of life he gets to save.
