She noticed that many cats were just left on their own in the absence of their owners. Kim Thomas wanted to create a place where cats felt welcome. That is why she opened the cat resort in Avon, Connecticut. It is truly cats only. No dogs are allowed, so do not even try. Kim set out to create a place that we designed just for cats. Her business opened in September and bookings have been solid ever since. The idea was born out of her noticing that everything in the animal kingdom seemed to be focused on dogs. That largely left cats out of the equation. While cats might be a bit more independent and free spirited than dogs, that does not mean that they do not want to be pampered and constantly looked after as well. That is why Kim set out to create their own space. It is friendly for cats, containing the very amenities that they carve the most, while also being quiet and peaceful. It is interesting to know that Kim also started other pet oriented business. Namely, she is the owner of West Hartford Pet Sitters and a mobile dog grooming business. There is also a webcam installed so that owners can always keep an eye on their cat and provide them with that extra peace of mind that they need while they are away.
