Cats are animals that love attention (on their own terms) and they love when their humans spoil them rotten. It’s not a big surprise considering the fact that cats seem to be amongst the most high-maintenance animals around. These animals are downright needy when they want to be and aloof any other time. Cats are confusing. However, they’re your pets and you should occasionally take the time to spoil them with a little love and affection. This could come in the form of your free time spent playing with the cat or the form of new treats and toys, a little extra show of love here and there. Think of your cat as you would any other member of your family and get to working to make him or her feel loved and appreciated in your home.

Buy Fleece Blankets
Cats love the feel of warmth. You might notice that yours spends a great deal of time on the beds or on any throw blankets you have around the house. You probably make it a habit to go ahead and kick your cats off of these things because they’re in the way or shedding on your blankets, and that’s upsetting. Cats really love the feel of a nice, warm blanket, so buy him a few. Put them in his special place so that he knows they are there just for him. Talk about a spoiled cat.

Serve Gourmet Foods
Your cat probably gets whatever is on sale, if most cat owners are to be believed. Cat food can be expensive; so many owners do what they can to save a little money here and there by purchasing foods that are on sale during the week. Your cat might eat a different type of food each week. That’s fine as it’s not going to do much harm to the cat. However, you might want to invest in some really good food for the cat every so often to make him feel spoiled.

Clean the Litter Box
Sadly, this shouldn’t be considered a moment of spoiling, but it is. Cats are in love with a clean litter box and people love a clean house that smells nice. So it’s kind of crazy to most of us that so many cat owners do not clean the litter box more often. Do this daily for your cat and you will find yourself amazed at just how easy it is to spoil your feline friend.

Clean the Cat Dishes
Cats love a clean dish, so go ahead and clean those every day. It’s a small and very simple way to spoil your cat that doesn’t cost anything and doesn’t take too much time. I mean, we clean our own dishes every single day, so why don’t we have the same common courtesy for the animals that live in our homes? We wouldn’t eat off a plate that hasn’t been cleaned in weeks, would we? If you say anything but no, you probably shouldn’t even have a cat.

Get Some Cat Nip
Cats love cat nip. It makes them just a little bit crazy, so you probably do not love cat nip so much. However, it’s a fun treat for cats and it makes them feel good and loved. Get one of those toys that hides cat nip inside and makes your cats really work for that nip. Maybe it will keep them a little bit calm and a little bit entertained for longer than you expected, which is always a plus.

Clear a Window Seat
Cats love to look out at the world, so go ahead and clear a set at the window for your feline friend. Make a perch on which your cat can sit and watch as the world passes buy. Clear the window sill to make room for your cat. Remove the furniture from in front of the windows so that your cat has a clear view of all that’s happening in the world. Believe it or not, this is a great way to spoil your animal.

Don’t Bring Any Other Animals Around
Many cats are very friendly and will adapt to new animals, but most cats would prefer you just keep those other animals away from them and to yourself. For example, a cat that has been alone in the house for many years is going to be very unappreciative when a new animal is introduced in your home. Even if that animal is one that’s just visiting, your cat does not know this and will not feel spoiled at all.

Buy a Cat House
Cats love to play and climb and scratch, but you probably do not love him playing and climbing and scratching all your furniture and belongings. In this case, why not go ahead and make sure your cat has a home of its own with which he can do as he pleases? A cat house or tower is going to make for one happy cat, and it is really going to make your cat feel spoiled rotten.

Buy me a Plate
Your cat does not like to eat from a bowl. I know; then why do people make bowls and sell them for cats in every pet store in the world? The honest truth is that there is a profit to be had, so these people just do not care. However, your cat has very sensitive whiskers and would be much happier eating from a plate. He or she will not complain about a bowl, to be honest, but your cat will be so much happier with a plate you’ll feel as if you just bought him diamonds.

Keep the Doors Open
Cats love to explore, and that means every room in your house. Felines are not a fan of closed doors, which is why we love the idea of keeping doors open for your cat friends. This is an especially wonderful idea if you have an enclosed patio or porch where your cat can go sit down and enjoy the beautiful weather from the comforts of your own home. Leave that door open as often as possible and you will be spoiling your cat immensely.
