A wedding can be the most memorable and joyful day in someone’s life. Bringing two individuals together to celebrate their love and to deepen the bond of their relationship is always heartwarming. One of the best things about weddings is that they can be as unique as the parties involved. Some weddings, however, stand out more than others. Some weddings do not even involve humans.
One of the most interesting weddings a person will ever see happened recently between two cats named Pedro and Silver. Silver’s owner, an 11-year-old boy named Brady, decided that it was about time the two cats got married after their long courtship. He sent a handwritten invitation to his next-door neighbor Ashley Shields, Pedro’s owner.
The invitation specified that, naturally, the cats will be nicely dressed for the occasion. The people involved did not need to dress up, but it was an option. With the wedding set, all that was left to do was iron out some details. Luckily, Shields was able to officiate weddings in Iowa and agreed to officiate the feline wedding. She also agreed to get her dining room ready for the ceremony, while friends prepared a cake as well as the cats’ outfits.
With Pedro decked out in his bowtie and Silver in her veil, the ceremony took place a couple of days later. They were given tuna cakes so that they would stay put during the ceremony. Shields gave a short speech about the strong relationship and said the vows. Afterwards, guests enjoyed champagne and cake, just like a typical reception.
In today’s age, nobody can be sure how a marriage will turn out. However, all involved believe that the cats have forged such a strong relationship over their years of friendship that they will make it. In a time where news is dominated by politics and conflict, there is nothing like a cat wedding to brighten one’s day.
