Tiny Kitten Follows Brother to Become An Adventure Cat

People think that there are always huge differences between dogs and cats. That’s because in most cases, there are. Dogs like to do things like go for car rides, go hiking with their people, and even hang out the window of the car sniffing the air as they feel the wind on their face. Cats don’t typically like to do things like that. However, there is at least one cat that virtually lives for these types of things and his name is Otie. Maybe he’s really a dog in a cat’s body, but it doesn’t really matter. He has a remarkable story that’s worth telling. Even more importantly, he’s passing on his unique traits to another cat as well.

Before we get too far into telling the story about Otie’s love for adventure, it’s important to know his story. He was found with a group of other cats in the same litter that had somehow managed to get up on top of a neighbor’s barn. The person that would become his owner set out several bowls of milk in hopes of lowering the cats down off of the roof and he was the first one that showed up. He took the milk, but he was also scared and unsure of what to expect. As such, he was pawing and hissing at everybody, threatening to bite at every turn.

At the time, his person started to wonder if she had made a mistake by setting out the bowl of milk and then not knowing what else to do, making the decision to take him home. However, it didn’t take long for the two of them to develop the strong bond and as such, Otie started to relax almost immediately. He became even happier when he got to go on his first adventure. Obviously, his family had no idea that he had a love for adventure. As a matter of fact, it all started innocently enough. The two of them were planning on going on a three-day camping trip and they simply didn’t want to leave him there at the house alone. They had a camper, so they decided to take him along and let him stay inside. As soon as he got in the car, he started trying to hang out the window just like a dog.

As it turns out, that was just the first indication that Otie was unique. He likes going on hikes, riding in a boat, and doing virtually anything and everything his family does. He loves to go camping and experience all the new sights and sounds around him. He also wears a leash on those trips just in case he decides to wander off, although that really isn’t a problem with him. More recently, Otie and his family welcomed a new kitten when Artie came to live with them. As it turns out, Otie was found in a nearby barn as well, as his mother had sadly been run over by a car. He was so young when he was found that he had to be bottle fed and he had some challenging health issues, thanks to parasites. Today, he’s happy and healthy and Otie is showing him the ropes. As a matter of fact, Artie has now been on a couple of camping trips with the family and he simply watches what Otie does and then follows suit.

While the two cats couldn’t have more different personalities, it’s interesting to note that they seem to be very close to each other. Otie is laid-back and doesn’t let much get to him, while Artie loves to play fight and is fairly feisty. Perhaps it’s nothing more than a difference in age, but whatever it is, both cats seem to be happy to have found each other. They’re both lucky in the sense that their people consider them to be more like their kids than their pets, so they really do make that extra effort to allow them to be a part of their lives in every way possible as opposed to merely locking them away until they get back home.

The story of these two cats is unique and it’s also heartwarming. It’s no wonder that so many people want to know more stories about animals like this. In a world that’s filled with so much cruelty and division, it’s nice to know that there are still some little pockets of the world where good things happen and positive feelings still hold true. Stories like these provide a fresh perspective for individuals that are worn down from hearing the typical stories on the news everyday. It shouldn’t really come as a surprise that something so refreshing, something that’s even capable of restoring the human spirit, exists because of an animal.
