Cat Reunited With Owners After Going Missing for Five Years
If you have ever lost a family pet, then you know it is one of the worst heartbreaks you can face. It is devastating and it can feel like you just lost a family member. Losing a family pet may, at first, may seem like you will be reunited so you try not to worry. But when days go by without a call or hint of your best friend, then your mind eventually starts to wander and you begin to think of the worse and imagine that something horrible did happen. Knowing this, you can only imagine what the Daniel’s family went through, and then the relief and excitement they felt when they were finally reunited with their pet cat, when he was returned after five years of being a missing cat.
Can you imagine get your lost pet back after weeks or months of missing, how lucky you would feel? Now imagine after five long years of being gone, that yo get your pet back. The surprise would be overwhelming, which is what the Daniels family felt knowing their cat went missing back in 2012 and returned.
The Daniels family is from Bradninch, Devon and they said they were ‘stunned’ when the local animal shelter called and said he had been found. Ringo is a ginger kitty and he went missing in 2012 during the London Olympics and since then, has lived as a stray on the streets, that is, until the local feline charity, Cats Protection, call Carolyn Daniels and said that Ringo had been found. He had returned.
Daniels said after she got the call, she had to go to work, but after work, she went by the shelter to get him and when she saw him, she just couldn’t believe it. She says that when she got home to her girls, her girls just could not believe it. Everyone was just in shock.
Ringo the cat seemed thrilled to be home and reunited with his family. Daniels says that despite the fact that he had been gone nearly half a decade, he is still their number one companion and he seems to recognize his home and his family. A happy reunion.
Despite the fact that cats are extremely independent animals, it is not unusual or unheard of that cats will return to their owners after being on their own and gone for a length of time. There was a story just a year ago about a cat in Caerphilly that returned home after going on the lam way back in 2010. It proves that many remember their homes and owners and want to get back.
