What Cat Toys Should You Buy for Your Cat?

cat toys on a string

Most cats are always finding random items around your house to play with.  They seem to be amused by string or some type of resemblance to yarn.  You could put a cat in a room with absolutely nothing in it and they would still find a way to keep themselves occupied.  Sometimes you need to be aware of the fact that they like to climb things.  Your curtains being one of them.  Snags and rips turn into screams and cries!  You don’t want to be mad at your kitty and you definitely don’t want to cry over shredded curtains.  Why put you and your cat through a difficult time like that?  Just grab them some cat toys and you guys should be all set.  The question is:  Which cat toys would your cat like the best?

There are a few thousand options that you can choose from when picking out cat toys.  We will narrow it down to the actions of your cat that will show you the cat toys that your cat might be interested in having.  If you have a cat that loves to chase things around the house, you will need a lot of small fuzzy cat toys.  These usually resemble a small mouse or they are just plain round balls.  Your cat will bat them back and fourth for hours on end to keep themselves occupied.  This will keep them busy and away from the side of your leather couch!  Along with these cat toys that they would continuously hit back and forth, you can also buy a “challenge” for them.  A wooden box with holes in it brings more challenge and fun into the whole “bat the ball around the house” game.  With this box, they can stick their paws in the holes and try to get their cat toys out.  They will be occupied for a while and also having fun trying to retrieve their cat toy.

Bring home any cat toy with feathers or string and you have set your cat up for an entertaining lifestyle.  Actually, you might be more entertained then they will be.  Have you ever noticed that cats like to hold onto their cat toys as if they have just captured something?  It is a feeling of triumph that they were able to grab the strings and hold on tight.  Not to mention that they love chewing on the feathers.   Another thing you could add to this type of cat toy is sound.  Even though you might be up all hours of the night, it is definitely worth it to see your cat happy with a few jingle bells on a string.  These types of toys for your cat are simple to find.  You could make them if you wanted to!  They are just the basics to the bigger, more elaborate cat toys that you could find in the store.
